Discord Bot Privacy Policy

1. Who this covers

This policy applies to the PokeDealFinder Discord bot and nothing else. Our mobile app and website are covered separately by our main Privacy Policy.

The data controller is the operator of PokeDealFinder (pokedealfinder.uk). If you are in the UK or EU, we process the data below on the basis of legitimate interests — running a deal-alert bot you or your server administrator chose to install. You can withdraw at any time by removing the bot or running /alerts delete.

2. What we do NOT collect

This matters more than the list below, so it comes first. The bot requests no privileged gateway intents. It is technically incapable of reading:

• Message content. We do not request the Message Content intent. We cannot see what anyone says in your server.
• Your member list. We do not request the Server Members intent.
• Presence, status or voice activity.
• Email addresses or IP addresses of Discord users.
• Anything at all about members who never run one of our commands.

We do not sell, rent or share any of this data with third parties, and we do not use it for advertising or profiling.

3. What we store when the bot joins a server

When a server administrator adds the bot, Discord tells us:

• The server (guild) ID and name
• The server owner's Discord user ID
• An approximate member count and the server's preferred locale
• The dates the bot joined and, if applicable, left

We use this to know where to deliver deals, to support you when something is not working, and to understand how many servers use the bot.

4. What we store when an administrator configures feeds

When someone runs /feeds setup we store:

• The channel IDs you wire up, and their names (cached so /feeds list is readable)
• Which feeds each channel subscribes to, and its minimum discount setting
• The Discord user ID of the administrator who made each change, as an audit trail
• The result of permission checks on those channels, so we can tell you why a channel is quiet
• Delivery outcomes: when we last posted, how many posts we have made, and any error codes Discord returned

5. What we store if you personally opt in

Only if you run /alerts setup, we store:

• Your Discord user ID and username (the username is cached only so the data is readable to us in support situations)
• The alert filters you choose: minimum discount, price range, market, whether you want cards or sealed product, and any specific cards or sets you follow
• Whether your alerts are paused or stopped, and whether recent delivery attempts failed

This is entirely optional. Not running /alerts setup means we hold nothing about you personally.

6. Links and click tracking

Deal links posted by the bot are eBay Partner Network affiliate links. We may earn a commission on qualifying purchases, at no extra cost to you.

Those links pass through a redirect on pokedealfinder.uk so we can count clicks. When a link is clicked we record the deal, the server the link was posted in, a timestamp, and the browser user-agent (used to filter out bots). We do this per server, not per person — the link does not identify who clicked it.

7. How long we keep it

• Server and configuration data: kept while the bot is in your server. If the bot is removed, the data is retained for 30 days and then permanently deleted. The delay exists so that re-adding the bot restores your configuration rather than making you set it all up again.
• Personal alert settings: kept until you delete them. Running /alerts delete removes them immediately and permanently.
• Click records: retained in aggregate for affiliate reporting and analytics.

8. Your rights and how to exercise them

• Delete your personal alert data: run /alerts delete in Discord. This is immediate and needs no request to us.
• Delete your server's data: remove the bot from your server. Data is purged after 30 days, or immediately on request.
• Access, correction, restriction or objection: email us at the address below with your Discord user ID or server ID.

If you are in the UK, you also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).

9. Data location and security

Data is stored on servers in the EU. Access is limited to the operator. We do not transfer this data outside our infrastructure except to Discord itself, which is necessary to deliver messages, and to eBay Partner Network in the aggregate form described in section 6.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. Material changes will be posted here with an updated date. Continued use of the bot after a change constitutes acceptance.
