We’ve been quietly rebuilding the deal-alert system in the Poke Deal Finder app, and it’s nearly ready to ship. This post is a heads-up on what’s coming, why we’re making the change, and what existing users will need to know.
What’s changing
The old system asked you to set up a “Deal Finder” for each card you cared about — picking a price threshold, a grading filter, a market, a discord webhook, and so on. It was powerful but fiddly.
The new system replaces all of that with Deal Rules:
- One rule can target a specific card, an entire set, or any card at all
- Filter by condition (Raw / PSA 10 / PSA 9+ / CGC / BGS) and a minimum discount percentage
- Choose your market (UK or US)
- Get a push notification the moment a matching deal lands
The card detail page in the app now has a simple Watch this card button — one tap and you’re alerted whenever the card drops below market price. No form to fill in.
A new Deals tab
The Deals tab now has two sections:
- All deals — the public feed. Every verified deal our monitors find, surfaced in real time. Free for everyone.
- Watching — your personal alert rules. Tap any rule to tune it; tap the bell to add a new one.
What about my existing deal finders?
If you set up Deal Finders before this update, we’re migrating them automatically. Each active Deal Finder will become a Deal Rule on the same card, with the same market and condition filters where they map cleanly across.
You’ll get an email and a push notification the day we go live, explaining exactly what happened and where to find your new rules. Nothing for you to do.
A note on price thresholds: if your old Deal Finder used a fixed price cap (e.g. “alert me under £20”), we don’t have an exact equivalent in the new system — rules are percentage-based. We’ll convert those to a 30% below market rule by default and flag them in the rule name so you can fine-tune them after launch.
What’s free vs Premium?
Free — the full All deals feed in real time, plus 5 card scans per day. You still see every deal we find; you just don’t get push notifications.
Premium — up to 50 deal rules, push notifications, unlimited card scans, ad-free.
If you’re already a Premium subscriber, you keep everything you have. We’ll be tidying up the subscription plans in the App Store and Play Store over the next few weeks, but your current plan will continue to work normally — no action needed.
When is this happening?
We’re putting the finishing touches on a few things — testing rule matching across the UK and US monitors, fine-tuning the migration script, and making sure the launch email lands at the right time. Expect it within the next few weeks.
